Fire-belching locomotive on one train forces evacuation of another train at Back Bay

Boston firefighters responded to Back Bay station shortly before 10:15 p.m. on reports of smoke coming from the vicinity of a commuter-rail train on Track 7 - which was quickly evacuated.

A chat with MBTA workers revealed the problem was a fire in an exhaust stack of a locomotive on Track 4 - which the T pulled out of the station so that the engine could be shut to stop the fire. But you know how Back Bay station is with smoke even in the best of conditions.
