Additional officers, help from Transit Police, assisted the units on scene and pursued the suspect up the stairs of City Hall Plaza. Officers eventually caught up to the suspect at the top of the stairs. Following a struggle in which the suspect attempted to kick and spit at officers, the male was placed into custody.
Police say Collette did the spitting thing again during booking.
He was charged with unarmed robbery, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and malicious destruction of property, police say.
