Danielle Kang returned from a 45-minute rain delay with two consecutive birdies. By the end of the round Saturday, she was happy to have a share of the lead in the LPGA Drive On Championship in Toledo, Ohio.

Kang, who was born in San Francisco, followed her back-to-back birdies with three consecutive bogeys, another birdie and finally a 4-foot par on the final hole to salvage a 1-over-73 and tie Celine Boutier (71) and Jodi Ewart Shadoff (72) for the lead at 5-under 139.

Inverness Club, already a tough test that will host the Solheim Cup next year, was even more of a challenge in wet weather and a little more wind. Only two players broke 70, including Sarah Schmelzel — who is two shots back in fourth.

The event is the LPGA Tour’s first since Feb. 16.

World Golf Championship: Brendon Todd shot a 1-under 69 to take a one-stroke lead over Byeong Hun An after three rounds of the FedEx St. Jude Invitational in Memphis.

Todd started the third round with a two-stroke lead. He had five birdies and four bogeys to put him at 13-under 198 on a nearly perfect day at TPC Southwind with temperatures in the 70s.

PGA Tour: Troy Merritt made two late birdies to take a four-point lead over Maverick McNealy and Emiliano Grillo into the final round of the Barracuda Championship in Truckee, the PGA Tour’s lone modified Stableford scoring event.

Merritt had eight birdies on Tahoe Mountain Club’s Old Greenwood Course in a 14-point round. Players receive five for eagle, two for birdie, zero for par, minus-1 for bogey and minus-3 for double bogey or worse.

Branden Grace tested positive for the coronavirus, forcing him to withdraw from the Barracuda Championship and the PGA Championship, which begins Thursday at Harding Park.

Other tours Sam Horsfield carded a 1-under 71 for a 14-under 202 total that left him one shot ahead of Oliver Farr, Rasmus Hojgaard and Mikko Korhonen at the European Tour’s Hero Open in Birmingham, England. ... In Grand Blanc, Mich., Brett Quigley shot an 8-under 64 to improve to 11-under 133 for a one-shot lead over Carlos Franco, Jim Furyk and Tommy Armour III in the Ally Challenge, the first PGA Tour Champions event in five months.
